Where does this congressional-buying data come from?

From the periodic transaction reports (PTRs) members of Congress must file under the STOCK Act. We net each name's disclosed purchases against its sales over the last 60 days and keep only the names Congress is a net buyer of, ranked by net disclosed dollars.

Are the dollar amounts exact?

No — the STOCK Act requires disclosure only in broad ranges (e.g. $1,001–$15,000), so we use the midpoint of each range to estimate net flow. Treat the dollar figure as an order-of-magnitude signal, not a precise position size.

How often does this page update?

New disclosures are ingested as they're filed (often weeks after the trade, per the law's reporting window), and our verdicts refresh nightly against SEC filings. The 60-day window rolls forward daily.
